Hello,

I have the following syntax script:

DATASET ACTIVATE DataSet1.
GLM happyprop sadprop angerprop disgustprop fearprop surpriseprop neutralprop BY sex
/WSFACTOR=emotion 7 Polynomial
/CONTRAST (emotion)=Simple
/METHOD=SSTYPE(3)
/PLOT=PROFILE(emotion*sex)
/CRITERIA=ALPHA(.05)
/EMMEANS = TABLES(emotion*sex) COMPARE (emotion) ADJ(BONFERRONI)
/WSDESIGN=emotion
/DESIGN=sex.

However, I get the following error:

Warnings
Invalid syntax in the CONTRAST subcommand was detected where the symbol emotion was encountered. Factor name was expected.
Execution of this command stops.

I'm confused because 'emotion' is the factor name.

Any suggestions?

This is weird. Try eliminating the space between contrast and ( and run again.

Sometimes things don't run for me and I just eliminate spaces and then it runs. Go figure.

Eliminating the space between CONTRAST and the ( didn't work.
