hi there,

this is my first post and i am relatively new to SPSS. I have a query concerning what to do with missing data. I have four variables based on business growth: IncreasedSales, IncreasedProducts, IncreasedEmployees, and IncreasedRevenue. Subjects were asked to choose Yes or No for each (indicating if they have experienced the variable of growth or not).

The debate I am having is that it has been suggested that if nothing was selected (either Yes or No) for ALL four variables then they should be set to No as default. That means businesses that did not select Yes or No will be labelled as experiencing "No Growth", is this justified? I think I understand the concepts behings list/pairwise and have read some of the other posts re missing data, but I am unsure how to treat this issue.

Regards,
Sk

I guess in this case I would just exclude them from analysis....
