Hi,

Please could someone tell me what is the maximum amount of data that we can enter in SPSS... I guess that if I have 3150 observations and 10000 variables it will be too big right?:)

And which kind of file SPSS can import? ASCII file are recognized?

Thanks
Soph.

For versions 10 or older, 32768 variables and 2,15 billion cases. Styarting with version 10, 2,15 billion variables, no case limit. But most of the time it is insane to work with so many variables in SPSS. Anyway, if you have 1000 variables and 3150 cases, is not too big.

I don't know almost nothing about ASCII, but as far as I know, SPSS works with ASCII .dat files.

Fierce is right, regardless if the data type imported. You might also want to cache the data as it is read.

Nice! So then if I am doing a PCA on these data I can see and thus export the loadings and score of this PCA right? Sorry I am a little bit new with SPSS...
Thanks again for your answer
